Bill Skarsgard’s Nosferatu is Set to be An Intense Epic

Robert Eggers, who is known for several horror movies, including The Witch and The Lighthouse has high hopes for his new Nosferatu movie. The movie is going to star Bill Skarsgard as Count Orlok, along with Nicholas Hoult, Willem Dafoe, and Lily-Rose Depp. Nosferatu is a dark tale about a vampire, who is infatuated with a haunted young woman. Terror soon unfolds, taking viewers on an incredible journey through history, with a modern edge.

Are We Entering a New Era for Horror?

A number of new horror movies have been released lately, with several in the works. They include Smile 2, Salem’s Lot, and 28 Years Later. Horror gaming is also on the rise, with Silent Hill 2 currently in development. The game is being published by Konami and is a remake of the 2001 release. If you go onto any online casino UK website, you’d be hard-pressed to find a site that doesn’t offer some kind of Halloween slot too. With games that range from Big Bass Halloween to darker titles such as Halloween Horrors Megaways, it seems that horror could be making a bit of a comeback. Even Netflix is making its own original horror TV shows, with The Haunting of Hill House and Fear Street. The recent resurgence of horror has paved the way for some new and exciting content, and in the case of the film Nosferatu, it’s also helping to bring back classics, catering them to a more modern audience.

Nosferatu’s Face is Yet to Be Revealed

The trailers that have been released are yet to show Nosferatu’s face. Skarsgard, who has previously starred in IT and The Crow, has been working with an opera singer to try and lower the octave of his voice for the role.  Although his work on The Crow didn’t necessarily resonate with audiences, this role appears to be made for him, as he can channel the facial expressions he’s known for, with plenty of room for creativity and improvisation.

The director has said that this movie is set to be scary with plenty of jumps, which is great for modern horror audiences but takes away a lot of what the classic is known for. Nosferatu is the remake of the 1922 silent classic, which has served as a huge inspiration for many movies since. Although this movie isn’t going to be silent, it should make up for it when you take into account the stellar casting choices. By casting seasoned actors who know the role they have to play well, there’s no reason why this movie shouldn’t be able to raise the bar of horror while giving fans a taste of the original classic.

With so many exciting horror movies on the horizon, it seems that 2024 and 2025 could well be a new age for the genre. More movies are coming out that are exploring interesting concepts, and old classics are being brought to the forefront once more. This is leading to a boom in the overall interest in horror, and with Halloween being right around the corner, it’s all good news for fans.
