Film Review: Mannequin (short film) (2017)

SYNOPSIS:

A horror thriller in which a lonely costume designer working within an old theatre begins to hear bumps in the night upon the arrival of a mysterious Mannequin…

REVIEW:

More short films, kiddies! Today we have MANNEQUIN, written and directed by Zach McCoy-Davies.

Ah, life in the theater! Any of us who were theater kids know about late nights making props and costumes, and for some of us there was that seemingly unobtainable dream of leaving the backstage to take the spotlight as a star. Most of us never got past the backstage, of course.

In this film, our young costume maker (played by Amy Shaw), is enduring another long night of thankless work to make others look beautiful. Her only companion? A brand new dressmaker’s doll. Like one does in this situation, Amy spends her time in conversation with the doll.

And yes…it happens. I do it all the time.

But I don’t usually expect them to talk back…..

Short, sweet, to the point. I liked it. Go watch it.

Using my special short scale of one to five, five being awesome, I’m giving this film 4 dolls.
