2014 Niagara Falls Debut Zombie Mud Run

Saturday September 13, 2014 Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

They’ve been referred to as Rotters, Hungerers, Reanimated, The Walking Dead or most commonly zombies. Call them what you will; a ghoulish horde ran ravenously amok in the grounds of the famous war of 1812 hell bent for life lines. The life lines are a symbol of the aspiring survivors’ intestines, brains and other vital organs. The insatiable zombies vowed to devour each and every flag, rendering their prey as infected.

Over four hundred brave runners vied to stay alive in the treacherous five kilometer obstacle course. Wooden barricades, rope ladders, culverts, and a forty foot water slide were merely a few of the treacherous elements added to the terrain. An overcast day that conjured drizzle only to manifest into a full blown downpour added further adrenaline to the race. Runners shrieked in terror being bombarded by their undead assailants donned in Hollywood quality make up. Only the truly strong survived with life line ribbons intact in this one of a kind event in support of Crohns and Colitis Foundation of Canada.

Phil Van Kleef, owner and operator of the Campark Resorts Campground could not be more thrilled with the turnout and looks forward to hosting next year’s event.
