Artwork: 4.5 out of 5
There are a few artists that I like to lump into the same category as Dan Mendoza; Jason Martin, Bryan Baugh, Buz Hasson, Ken Heaser and Josh Howard. Each of these guys has a very cartoony style to their artwork that may have some people looking the other way, but I want you all to know that would be a mistake. In this book you are treated to outstanding visuals that consist of great character designs, awesome colors and some of the most GORE-geous death scenes that I found in more recent comics today. The colors in the book just pop, and it’s probably because of the use of red and blue that stand out from the black and whites. The shading is fantastic and I really did fall in love with the look on each and every page. The highlight to a horror fan though is the gore, and this book has plenty of that to satisfy my dying needs.

Story: 4.0 out of 5
I have read and reviewed issues #1 and #2, but something seemed to be missing. I think what it came down to was the gap between issues so I found myself a little lost at times. Now that I have the whole story in my hands I have to admit that it felt complete and I was more than satisfied with the story. Another large factor in understanding what was presented was knowing that Mendoza wanted to give this a Grindhouse feel, and he achieved it with flying colors. Sure the story is not a huge in-depth novel, but it takes what it is and makes it work. With a great B-Movie feel this book fills that cheesey void that I think is missing from most zombie comics. The dialogue is on point from page to page and it just flows beautifully. Before knew it the book was over and I was just so satisfied with what I had just taken in. A great story all around.

Dying Breath: 4.0 out of 5
I think plain and simple I just have to say, I LIKE IT. I loved that it had that great B-Movie feel to it and it accomplished what it set out to do in making me think I was watching this awesome zombie movie. I feel that I really have to sell you on this book though, because you might see the title and just want to pass on it. This book is not just sleazy artwork to try to make a buck. Instead it is a well told tale that is visually appealing and deserves to be sitting on your horror shelf. So for you horror fans out there it is really quite simple, go on and buy this book because it can easily fill your Zombie loving thirst.
