Horror Funding: INK Movie

The Toronto-based body horror/creature short promises audiences an atmospheric and visceral movie-going experience. Driven by the unique aesthetic of Photographer turned first-time Filmmaker, Ashlea Wessel, INK will be sure to transfix and horrify in equal shares. Jen Wright and the INK makeup team are busy creating a visually stunning experience through beautifully creepy creature FX and lead character JOEY’s extensive tattoos.

INK’s original story provides an unusual take on the female protagonist in the damaged but resilient (and heavily tattooed ) JOEY, as well as a fresh perspective in a genre with so many creative possibilities and so few female voices.

SYNOPSIS

After a pregnancy scare, JOEY marks the occasion with a new tattoo and a drunken night of distraction, but  when she arrives home in the early hours of the morning, she’s confronted with the truth about what she really wants, and the past that’s driven her to the brink of obsession.  Her desires and circumstances intersect to awaken a monster who answers her unwitting call.
