“Deeply Unsettling” (NY Times), Blackout Haunted House Isolates, “Effs Up” Victims October 1-31

NYC’s Blackout Haunted House is easily the most terrifying experience this Halloween season – and you have no choice but to go through it alone.

“The extreme theater event of the year…the goal is to titillate, unsettle, and generally mess with your mind.” The New York Times

The immersive horror attraction now in its third year (formerly known as NYC Halloween Haunted House), opens Saturday, October 1 at 54 West 39th Street and thrusts visitors (adults only) up against their most primal fears – tight spaces, intensely violent and sexual situations, and complete and utter darkness, armed with nothing more than a flashlight, a protective facemask, and their own heartbeat. Each passage through lasts 20-30 minutes, and no two are ever the same – this isn’t your father’s haunted house.

HOUSE RULES:

· YOU MUST WALK THROUGH ALONE.
· You will be prompted to do certain actions. Please do exactly as you’re told. This is for your safety.
· There is absolutely no speaking allowed inside. You can, however, scream as loud as you’d like.
· Do not ever touch the actors.
· Do not ever touch the walls.
· Stay on the marked path at all times.
· You must wear a protective mask and carry a flashlight at all times (we will provide both of these items for you. Please do not bring your own).

Please be aware, you will encounter: fog, strobe lights, complete darkness, crawling, stairs, loud noises, physical contact, nudity, sexual and violent situations.

If you’re a horror buff in or near NYC, you HAVE to check out Blackout. It’s unlike any horror experience you’ve even been through before.
