Forbidden Planet: Star Anne Francis Dead At 80

Anne Francis, star of FORBIDDEN PLANET lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, January 2nd, 2011. Diagnosed with lung cancer in 2007, Francis died of complications due to pancreatic cancer at a retirement home in Santa Barbara, California. The actress was 80 years old.

A New York native, Francis co-starred alongside Leslie Nielsen in the classic science-fiction film, FORBIDDEN PLANET, and was awarded a Golden Globe for her portrayal of ‘Honey West.’ Francis also starred … Continue reading

Dario Argento Feeding New Blood to DRACULA 3D

According to http://www.horrormovie.it/ new details have emerged about Dario Argento’s new project, a remake of DRACULA, in 3D. In 2010, Argento hinted that he would try his hand at turning a classic horror novel into a film, and later revealed that the novel would be Dracula with a screenplay adaptation written by Antonio Tentori. The Italian director promised that his take on Bram Stoker’s novel “will be a bloody, strong film.”

RIP Pete Postlethwaite (1946–2011)

After a long battle with cancer, Pete Postlethwaite lost the battle at the age of 64. Pete was best remembered by his roles in Inception, The Town, and Clash of the Titans. His other credits included Jurassic Park: The Lost World, The Usual Suspects, Amistad, Romeo & Juliet, Alien 3, and the 2006 version of The Omen. New Clip for ‘Season of the Witch’

Two new clips have been released courtesy of Colombia Pictures from their upcoming medieval swords and sorcery flick SEASON OF THE WITCH. The clip is a part of continuing “Making Of” journal that catalogs the creation of the film and features interviews with the stars of the movie.
