Earn Your Diploma In Horror When ‘Graduation Day’ Comes To Blu-ray

6150V-g1q0L._SY300_

Ah the 80’s. Gotta love some of the slasher flicks that graced the video store shelves back in the day. Some VHS cover’s just screamed out to be rented – such was 1981’s ‘Graduation Day’. I still remember walking into the video store and seeing that cover on the shelf. It’s good to see that CAV Distributing stuck with the iconic imagery for this upcoming Blu-ray release.

So, you’ve probably guessed by now – … Continue reading

This Fall ‘Prom Night’ Comes To Blu-ray

546822_10151718806553599_983972682_n

1980 was a huge year for Jamie Lee Curtis. It’s the year she starred in three genre classics. ‘The Fog’, ‘Terror Train’ and of course, ‘Prom Night’. While “Halloween certainly thrust her into the “Scream Queen” arena it was the release of those three films in 1980 that cemented her crown.

On Sept. 9th Synapse Films will release the later of those three – ‘Prom Night’.

If you’ve never seen this masterpiece of 80’s horror … Continue reading

Film Review: Deliver Us From Evil (2014)

Deliver-Us-From-Evil-2014-movie.--Scott-Derrickson-banner

SYNOPSIS:

NY police officer Ralph Sarchie investigates a series of crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest, schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the possessions that are terrorizing their city.

REVIEW:

It’s funny how the powers that be in Hollywood keep foisting “Based on a TRUE story” in front of a lot of the horror films they release, as if that’s gonna make audiences flock to see them. I cling … Continue reading

Watch Cronenberg’s New Short Film ‘The Nest’

David Cronenberg is a director whose work we just don’t see enough of these days. Back in the day his films were the stuff of legend and unfortunately he really hasn’t done a lot of ‘horror’ stuff in recent years but tonight we have a new short film that is disturbing to say the least.

I should mention at this point that this is most certainly NSFW so proceed with caution.

The film is … Continue reading

Universal Unveils The Trailer For ‘Dracula Untold’

It was just last week when I showed you those two new one sheets for Universal Studios reboot of their Dracula franchise, ‘Dracula Untold’. Looks like their heading down the same path as NBC did this fall, giving us a prequel to how Vlad turned from mortal to creature of the night.

If you remember, when those posters came out I expressed my concern that this one was going to go the way of ‘Underworld’ … Continue reading

So, what the hell is ‘The Guest’ you ask?

Dan Stevens play David who shows up one day on the door step of the Peterson family claiming to be the friend of the families son who … Continue reading

I’m not completely sold on this whole “romantic zombie comedy” stuff but I must admit, the trailer for ‘Life After Beth’ is pretty damn entertaining.

“Zach is devastated by the unexpected death of his girlfriend, Beth. But when she miraculously comes back to life, Zach takes full advantage of the opportunity to share and experience all the things he regretted not doing with her before. However, the … Continue reading

I love disaster flicks. Probably because I came of age during the golden age of such films. The Poseidon Adventure is to this day still my most favorite film of all time. It was my Star Wars. So needless to say a flick like INTO THE STORM more than peaks my interest and I’m really digging this brand new full length trailer that just hit today.

Starring Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh, … Continue reading
