Italian director Ruggero Deodato who is known best for his gore filled films is back at it again.  He is working on getting the cast in place for Cannibal Holocaust II and has tapped horror veteran David Hess as his leading man.  It’s been three decades since these two worked together on The House on the Edge of the Park and Body Count. Cannibal Holocaust II is a follow up to the original story of … Continue reading

Rev Your Engines for Death Race 2

A straight to DVD sequel of Death Race is set to be released on DVD, Blue Ray, and On-Demand this January 18th.  It has a solid cast in Danny Trejo (Machete), Ving Rhames (Pirahna 3D), and Luke Gloss (Hellboy II).  I love the matchup of Danny and Ving which I must say really piqued my interest in this film.  I’m normally not a fan of straight to DVD sequels especially when it’s too a remade … Continue reading

American Mary

american_mary

The Souska sisters have released a teaser trailer and poster for their follow up to Dead Hooker in a Trunk titled American Mary. It looks very promising and appears like it could be a look at how society treats and views women. Naturally since this is a teaser trailer I am merely guessing at that but it has definitely piqued my interest. Synopsis: “American Mary is the story of a medical student named Mary who … Continue reading

Love Free Horror? Then Watch The Tunnel!

tunnel

Australian filmmakers Julian Harvey and Enzo Tedeschi have come up with a unique and modern approach to releasing their movie. Instead of complaining about internet piracy and spending millions in trying to fight it they are releasing their film for free on Torrent sites everywhere next year. They instead made their money by selling each frame of the film for a dollar netting them $135,000. Not bad for an independent. It’s certainly new and interesting … Continue reading

Bereavement Poster Banned

bereavement

Yesterday we showed you the poster for the upcoming movie Bereavement. Bereavement is writer/director Stevan Mena’s gruesome prequel to MALEVOLENCE. The MPAA board has not viewed the movie but has already slammed down judgment on the poster and it’s a big NO. The reason for the ban is because it shows a child holding a weapon. Mena explained to Fangoria “It’s hugely disappointing, because that poster really encapsulated the plot of the film with an … Continue reading

Paranormal Activity Style with Real World Danger

HorrorNews.net-Thumbnail

We have new details for a movie coming up called 388 Areletta Avenue :). I don’t understand the emoticon at the end of that title but am hoping the movie explains it. Otherwise it’s just stupid. Still could be if the explanation is weak. I am getting sidetracked though. The movie has some real talent in it. You have got Nick Stahl (Sin City, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Mirrors 2), Mia Kirshner (The … Continue reading

Total Recall Remake

Riding the remake wave Universal Pictures is remaking Total Recall. In the iconic role of Douglas Quaid that Arnold Schwarzenegger played we get Colin Farrell this time. While not an out right terrible casting decision it is an odd one. I am none too thrilled with the idea of a remake though as the original is remains fantastic to this day. There are so many great lines, scenes, and characters that I find it hard … Continue reading

Alien Prequel News

It seems the prequel that Ridley Scott wants to make is back and forth between being made and being put on the back burner. Well Ridley shed some light on the status of this project recently that should put an end to the tug of war rumors that have been coming out. “We always have movies moving all the time. It’s a bit like the stock exchange, actually—one script will evolve quicker than the others, … Continue reading
