A date has been set for the release of the Total Recall remake.  Come August 3rd, 2012 we will see how Colin Farrell stacks up against Arnold in the iconic role of Denis Quaid.  This is a movie that still holds well today and was a breakthrough part for Arnold Schwarzenegger made over twenty years ago.  This is a tough sell to people but Sony is moving forward anyways. MGM Revival

HorrorNews.net-Thumbnail

MGM had filed for bankruptcy a while back and it seemed like they would be out of the movie making business for quite some time.  It was a shame really because they were working on some really great projects and held the rights to the James Bond franchise.  They received a $500 million cash infusion however and are getting some projects back on track. Before you get to excited though you should know it’s mostly … Continue reading

Apollo 18 Trailer Released

I should start this off by saying I am a bit of a space nut. I love everything about it and would constantly go out of my way to learn more. With that said I am incredibly excited about the upcoming movie Apollo 18. Anything that combines space and horror is a film I want to see. This looks to be no disappointment either. The movie is about the classified Apollo 18 mission. According to … Continue reading

HorrorNews.net-Thumbnail

Leave it to Thailand to really push the envelop on horror. A movie titled 2002 Unborn Child is due to be released in Thailand on March 10th. This is as sick looking movie dealing with backroom abortions. Not something you would ever expect to be seen made into a movie here in America. The trailer really looks sick with lots of blood, ghosts, but most of all discarded remains. For all of you looking for … Continue reading

Pet Semetary Remake Still a Possibility

There is some renewed interest in a Pet Semetary remake.  I personally loved the original and still cringe when I watch it.  That scene where Gage stabs the old man in the ankle and cuts it out is still difficult to watch.  It’s so well done and realistic that you feel pain in just watching it happen. Well The LA Times reported today that Matthew Greenberg who adapted Stephen Kings 1408 for the big screen … Continue reading

Rob Zombies latest original movie is heading to production this spring.  It is called Lords of Salem and it is being done with the same production team that did Paranormal Activity. The story is said to follow a “DJ in Salem who unleashes a horde of demonic minions (300-year old coven of witches) after she plays a cursed record.” It reminds me of Trick or Treat where an angry dead rocker is brought back when … Continue reading

Bereavement Gets Rated

HorrorNews.net-Thumbnail

This is one time when I am so happy to be wrong.  Bereavement cleared the MPAA rating board with no troubles and gets an R rating.  This clears it for a March 4th release and should be able to avoid the problems that plagues Hatchet II.  A sigh of relief can be breathed by everyone waiting for this.  Director Steven Mena let this out to Fangoria and is relieved that he doesn’t have yet another … Continue reading

Scream 4: posts new trailer – and updates on cast

The official trailer for Scream 4 has been released and it builds on the suspense of what will happen to Sydney Prescott. She has changed her name (listen to how she answers the phone) but could not stay hidden forever. Gathering the old cast with a new cast of characters puts this movie on sketchy ground but the trailer isn’t half bad. According to Executive Producer Barry Ratcliffe, although several offers have been made, a director for the … Continue reading
