Wingard And Barrett Eyeing ‘I Saw The Devil’

Here’s some news that has a lot of folks buzzing.

Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett and reportedly circling a reamke of the fan favorite Korean flick ‘I Saw The Devil’. Wingard and Barrett hit the big time last year with their surprise hit ‘You’re Next’ and are looking to make some noise this fall with the upcoming release of ‘The Guest’.

Reports indicate that the pair are “nearing a deal” in helming the U.S. retelling of Kim Jee-Woon’s 2010 ultra violent epic.  For the uninitiated, here is the story breakdown of the original flick:

“The embodiment of pure evil, Kyung-chul is a dangerous psychopath who kills for pleasure. On a freezing, snowy night, his latest victim is the beautiful Juyeon, daughter of a retired police chief and pregnant fiancée of elite special agent Soo-hyun. Obsessed with revenge, Soo-hyun is determined to track down the murderer, even if doing so means becoming a monster himself. And when he finds Kyung-chul, turning him in to the authorities is the last thing on his mind, as the lines between good and evil fall away in this diabolically twisted game of cat and mouse.”

I’m sure there will be a major “official” announcement once the deal is finalized so for now – just keep it on your radar – updates as needed.
