00:56:00 – Horror News of the Week for 9/30/2013
Dave Dreher’s horror news of the week begins with the news that IMAGE has acquired All Cheerleaders Die for distribution. If you remember, Robert Kurtzman just revealed his involvement in the EFX for this film is our last episode. Next up is news about Horror on TV with new clips and pics from The Following and NBC’s Dracula. Don’t forget, Thomas and Doc will begin hosting the TV Talk Dracula show in October! Dave then reveals there is a promo real of the concept of staging Final Destination 6 in the Dark Ages. Oh, noes. Dave has news of two new videos supporting Gravity that are out of this world and there is this little video that mashes together Breaking Bad with the Walking Dead.

01:11:15 – What have you been watching – Prisoners – Fright Night 2: New Blood
Vixen recommends the Hugh Jackman vehicle Prisoners with an emotional review. And Doc reveals he has seen Fright Night 2: New Blood sharing that the baggage from the title and characters are too much for the film. The ideas are sound and interesting; but, shoved into the world of Fright Night, the film is too frustrating to be enjoyed.

  1. Mick St John says:

I did listen to it and I did enjoy it. I got a behind the scenes look at what making a movie is about; what goes into it, how it begins from its first inception (i.e. a phone call, a post) to the final product. It was also an entreating venture into the venue of funding an indie motion picture. A creative soiree ranging from fans, the public, other directors, actors, etc…. demonstrating how and why such methods benefits not only the project but the fans as well (a personal investment even of a dollar or so lends oneself to experience of movie making).
This podcast was about the industry; what’s new, revised, revisited, etc. The stories were interesting and comments and commentators (i.e. Doc Rotten, Santos, Thomas Mariani, and Vixen) interviewees, provided insight, keen observations, and a buoyant wit which involved brought this listener into the podcast.
This is one of (if not) the first HORROR NEWS RADIO podcast I’ve enjoyed; it certainly won’t be the last.

And, yeah, I agree with you about the behind the scenes look Adam shared with us during the podcast. Very insightful and entertaining.

      Great to have you aboard!
