SYFY Channel Takes It To The Next Level, Check Out This Crazy Title

If by now you have not heard of SHARKNADO then you obviously live under the proverbial rock. This silly movie is freaking everywhere and you best believe that the folks at SYFY Channel are salivating all over themselves and trying desperately to find a way to keep the SHARKNADO madness fresh in everyone’s mind and they may just have found it.

What is possibly more scary than a SHARKNADO, how about a MURMANTULA. Yep, a MURMANTULA is coming and he won’t be alone, he’s bringing the SHARKTOPUS along for the ride. You should all remember before SHARKNADO was even ever thought of the folks at SYFY and the iconic Robert Corman had brought us the amazing SHARKTOPUS which was exactly what you think, a half shark half octopus creature that gets loose and terrorizes a beach community. A sequel to SHARKTOPUS is already in post production titled Sharktopus Versus Pteracuda and it stars Robert Carradine.

So that will make the SHARKTOPUS and MURMANTULA teaming a third in the series. SHARKTOPUS VS. MURMANTULA will star Casper Van Dien and Catherine Oxenberg with Kevin O’Neill handling the directors duties.

By now you have to be asking yourself “Just what in the hell is a MURMANTULA?” The official synopsis holds your answer:

In order to take down Sharktopus, Ray Brady, a former basketball player is injected with a transformation serum that alters his genetic make-up to become part man, part pirahna and part tarantula. Though, unsuccessful at his first attempt to bring down Sharktopus, Ray injects himself with a growth hormone, increasing his strength ten fold and has a final showdown with Sharktopus in a baseball stadium.

Let the awesomeness ensue….

  1. I thought it was MERMANTULA, not MURMANTULA.
