‘Arya’ Casting Commences with New Offers

After a successful presentation to various investment groups and foreign sales agents at the American Film Market (AFM), Ozon Films is announcing that they have begun to make tentative offers to Mario Van Peebles (NEW JACK CITY), Bai Ling (THE CROW), Sean Young (BLADERUNNER), and Tom Sizemore (HEAT) to participate in ARYA, a neo-noir psychological thriller.

The film, an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s THE TELL-TALE HEART, is the story of an 80’s Lolita who grows up to become a ruthless modern day Hollywood madam.

In the advanced stages of pre-production, award-winning writer-director Ray Izad-Mehr says of the project: “It is a cross between SCARFACE, BOOGIE NIGHTS, and ROSEMARY’S BABY, and intended to be made with a personal film making approach in the vein of classics from the 70’s.”

Produced by Viktor van Draak (SVP Production, Direct Aktion) with executive producer Stanley Glass (24), the $1.3M budgeted film is set in Los Angeles, and will begin principle photography in the first week of May, 2013. The lead role of Arya is out to various actresses, and the final choice will be announced in a future press release.
