Lackluster World is a humorous and somewhat disturbing dark satire about newspaper journalist and albino, Fahrenheit Monahan. At his own birthday party, his aggressively fundamentalist brother and sister, Kelvin and Celsius, thrust him past his limits of social tolerance. Consequently, Fahrenheit no longer has patience for the lackluster world he lives in and devises a plan to change it… before it changes him.“

Alright story time. Now I have seen Eric’s work almost every time I head on over to comicrelated.com, and it always calls out to me. So I decided this year at Wizard World Chicago, to take a chance and grab an issue. I have to say I love the way this book looks. It’s dark, gloomy and does nothing better than capture the whole feel of this book so well. I have to admit it has that SLG goth style to it, so maybe that had some pull, but it just works on all levels and looks so great.

Story: 4.0 out of 5
So can the story match the artwork? Yeah it can. I found the way that Eric approached the story to be very inviting, in its dark sense of humor way. So touching on that dark humor, it is the key factor to why I loved this book. I loved how dark, yet white, Fahrenheit is. And they dialogue is so much fun, his family is interesting, I don’t know what isn’t interesting here. It is a very interesting read.

Dying Breath: 4.0 out of 5
So I say if you are at a show and happen to see Eric and his great setup, grab a copy of issue #1. The artwork is great, the story is strong and together they make one hell of a case for a comic you should be reading. Yeah you can also get them on his site, but meet the man in person, shake his hand and grab a copy. Awesome stuff here and I can’t wait for the next Chicago show in 2011 so I can get issue #2.
