Mutantville Productions, an independent film company near Charlotte, North Carolina that focuses on creating horror movies, is announcing the upcoming screening of “Scarecrow at Midnight” on Saturday, October 29th, 2011 at the Third Annual Myers House Halloween Bash.

Set to bring the chills this Halloween, Scarecrow at Midnight was filmed at the legendary Myers House in North Carolina. It is an exact replica of the Myers family house in the blockbuster horror flick, Halloween, from world renowned filmmaker John Carpenter.

Ushering in the screening of “Scarecrow at Midnight” is Mutantville Productions’ exclusive interview with Mr. Carpenter during the Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville, Kentucky. The in-depth and revealing John Carpenter interview is scheduled to be available exclusively at Mutantville.com Friday, October 28, 2011. The horror master talks about his past and upcoming projects. Filmmaker John Carpenter is known for his titles such as Assault on Precinct 13, Halloween, The Fog, Escape from New York, The Thing, Christine, Star Man, Big Trouble in Little China, They Live, Escape from L.A., Vampires and The Ward fame.

”I don’t want to limit myself as a filmmaker. I want to be true to the parameters of all films. They should create a mood and tingle you emotionally. That is what I’m after. I want the audience to experience some feeling. I want them to know they’re alive,” Mr. Carpenter says regarding his passion for horror filmmaking.

Born in Carthage, New York, John Carpenter grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where his father was the head of the music department at Western Kentucky University. With a penchant for movie making, Mr. Carpenter attended the USC Film School in Los Angeles where he worked on The Resurrection of Broncho Billy in 1970 and started Dark Star in 1974.

While attending USC Film School, Mr. Carpenter became a member of a band called Coupe de Villes, which included future directors Tommy Lee Wallace and Nick Castle. Mr. Carpenter went on to create many cult and horror classics including Halloween, The Thing, Escape from New York and Big Trouble in Little China.
