Magazine Review: Morpheus Tales Magazine – Issue XIV

Morpheus Tales #14

As is usual every three months, I opened my mailbox and saw a package containing the latest issue of one of my favorite magazines…Morpheus Tales. I eagerly opened the package and was greeted with the stunning new cover by Candra Hope.  Morpheus Tales has some of the best artwork to accompany their tales and Issue #14 is no exception. The artwork beautifully enhances the tales they were created for.

As far as the fiction goes, Morpheus Tales has another winner on it’s hands.  Though, much to my surprise there were was one story that I really didn’t care for. So I don’t unduly influence you, I won’t reveal it, as you may like it and think me an idiot for not liking it.. :). That comes with the territory.

The magazine starts out with a haunting, heart searing tale called “The Cherry Tree”, a great story to kick the new issue off and my favorite story in this issue.

Other highlights for me were;

Rights Of The Living Dead – This is deeply disturbing, you may not want kids after reading this.

Teeth – You will be locking your windows and doors, and checking your teeth after this one.

The Final Toll – Short, violent and a hell of a lot of fun.

Morpheus Tales continues to publish some of the best short fiction around. If you are a lover of short horror fiction you are doing yourself a great disservice if you don’t subscribe to this wonderful little magazine. I for one am always eagerly awaiting their next issue and am never disappointed.

Use the link above and subscribe to Morpheus Tales, it is well worth it.
