‘FINAL DESTINATION 5’ Poster and Trailer

Ah, FINAL DESTINATION, the film franchise that made us all fear manhole covers, tanning beds, and even the innocence of a coat hanger. In FINAL DESTINATION 5 , Death is back for more souls and will be offing the unsuspecting survivors of a terrible suspension bridge collapse. Odds are their deaths will probably be some of the most random and ridiculous “accidents” moviegoers will be privy to all summer. Once again, like in the fourth film, FINAL DESTINATION 5 will be in 3D, and projectiles will be flying off the screen.

The trailer features a particularly cringe worthy scene involving a woman strapped in a chair receiving corrective eye surgery, and like all FINAL DESTINATION scenarios, the procedure goes horribly wrong. Other potential accidental deaths include an acupuncture mishap and a cringe worthy nail sticking out of a balance beam.

“Death is just as omnipresent as ever and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of co-workers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.”

Directed by Steven Quale, the film stars Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, and Arlen Escarpeta. FINAL DESTINATION 5 will arrive in US theaters on August 12th, 2011 and in the UK on August 24th, 2011.
