Magazine Review: Creepy Images Magazine – Issue 6

Welcome to the world of exploitation memorabilia. Yes, indeed! It’s that time again for collectors to treat themselves to a bit of culture and hard to finds. A new issue of Creepy Images has arrived with some great scans of first time exclusive print images and some others that collectors would die for. Now as a import mag, your gonna hear some titles especially in the states that will sound like nothing you’ve even seen or heard of. So when the issue posted some pretty cool images of a film called “I’m Blutrausch des Satans” I was curious as to if this was actually another title in disguise. It turns out that Mario Bava’s “Bay of Blood” or its other name “Twitch of the Death Nerve” was a spot on match.

The images this time, seem to be color corrected more to the actual grainy retro quality that we would expect from these stills. Another film “Cannibal Apocalypse” is included with a few shots as well that don’t resemble anything we’ve seen on American posters.

Emanuelle e gli ultimi cannibali” has some almost racy images that as we are told were professionally retouched over by the studios. Though that doesnt surprise me at all. The images from the release “Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals” takes on erotica and cannibalism in what seemed to be a trend at the time (go figure!) These images almost sing that James Bond poster look from back in the day with their forlorn wear and muted colors

The issue is pretty packed with horror erotica that signals an era gone by with some lovely ladies getting bludgeoned or seduced. All that and a bag of chips, its interesting to see hwo cinema has evolved in at times conflicting directions

Those re-occurring “Blind Dead” are back looking crispy, blue and like props from a bad sci fi film, but hey…Blind Dead need love to. I’m starting to feel like maybe I should hunt down the movie already, after seeing so much of these crispy corpses. Good stuff – and in a cute small sized package.

Here is a more cut and dry over view of the contents inside.
