Trailer: Apollo 18 – Weinstein says footage is authentic

As the April release of Dimensions new “found footage” flick APOLLO 18 creeps ever closer the hype machine is cranking into full gear, as it should.

Anyone that’s taken a high school history class knows that Apollo 17 was the last manned mission to the moon. Not so claims this latest in the “reality” film craze. Seems that another manned flight, APOLLO 18 actually occurred a year later in Dec. of 72 and things went a little…..strange.

Seems that some lost video from that flight has turned up and hence, this film is born. Actually, here is the films official synopsis:

Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972 was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.

Sounds like a great movie gimmick right? Well it is but according to Dimension’s Bob Weinstein there is no gimmick it is all 100% authentic! Really?

Here’s what he’s saying.

“People intrinsically know there are secrets being held from us. Look at WikiLeaks: There are secrets that are really true to the world. It’s not bogus.” “We didn’t shoot anything. We found it. Found baby!” “This is just the beginning, but I’m not giving you anymore secrets!”

The spirit of William Castle is alive and well and I love it! If you haven’t seen it yet check out the trailer below and then prepare yourself for April 22nd when the truth will be revealed.
