Toronto After Dark picks five thrilling and chilling screenings and events for Horror and Cult Film Fans to indulge in this Halloween Season:

1. FRI, OCT 22: IMAGINENATIVE’S WITCHING HOUR: CREEPY & FREAKY SHORT FILMS AT THE AL GREEN THEATRE!

In the spirit of Halloween, ImagineNATIVE Film Festival TONIGHT (Fri, Oct 22) presents a late night collection of scary, creepy and downright freaky short films in its WITCHING HOUR program. The special screening is at 11PM tonight and costs just $7, available in advance online, or at the door of the venue, the Al Green Theatre (750 Spadina Avenue at corner of Bloor) from one hour before the show. 2. SAT, OCT 23: TORONTO ZOMBIE WALK PLUS RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD IN 35MM AT BLOOR CINEMA!

The 8th Annual Toronto Zombie Walks shuffles off tomorrow, Sat, at 3PM at Trinity Bellwoods Park, and the organizers have put together a brain-munchingly awesome lineup of special events and guests for the undead to feast on. Highlights include:

3PM: Grand Marshall ODERUS of infamous mutant metal band GWAR will give a freakish commencement to send off the zombies in bloody style at the start of the walk!

4.30PM: At the conclusion of the Zombie Walk at Christie Pits Park, there will be a special performance by the VON DRATS

7.00PM: A rare 35MM film print of Lucio Fulci’s cult classic zombie flick RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD will screen at the BLOOR CINEMA in honour of the undead. Tickets just, $10 alive, $8 for the undead

9.00PM: Official Toronto Zombie Walk AFTER PARTY with some deathly cool bands and DJS at THE BOVINE. Free for Zombies, $5 for the living

3. MON, OCT 25: ALIENS QUADRILOGY BLU-RAY RELEASE PARTY AT TORONTO UNDERGROUND CINEMA!

Rue Morgue presents the ALIEN QUADRILOGY Blu-ray Release Party, Monday, October 25 at The Toronto Underground Cinema (186 Spadina Ave.) Join fellow fans for a screening of Ridley Scott’s ALIEN at 7pm and James Cameron’s ALIENS at 9:45pm – both films presented in 35mm – and you can also be among the first in Toronto to own the whole ALIEN series for the first time ever on crystal clear HD especially mastered for Blu-ray! Admission is just $8 for one film, $14 for both films, $125 for admission to both films + the ALIEN QUADRILOGY Blu-ray set, or $114.25 for simply the ALIEN QUADRILOGY on Blu-ray. 4. SAT, OCT 30: CEREMONIA SATANICA: RUE MORGUE 13TH ANNIVERSARY HALLOWEEN PARTY AT REVIVAL!

Celebrating its 13th Anniversary this year, RUE MORGUE presents Toronto’s premier Halloween Party for horror film fans: CEREMONIA SATANICA (Sat, Oct 30 at Revival, 783 College St. doors @ 9 PM) featuring three levels of electrifying performances including Undead Occult Rituals, a real life Flesh Hook Crucifixion, the ever popular Rue Morgue Go-Go Ghouls, film celebrity and industry guests, and tunes of doom from DJ’s Manny G, LaMort and Rue Morgue Radio’s own Tomb Dragomir in what Toronto After Dark Film Festival has called “a blast to your nocturnal senses” and Exclaim! Magazine hails as “a colossal grab bag of sins and screams.”

CEREMONIA SATANICA will also feature RUE MORGUE’s world renowned Midnite Costume Contest, which produces some of the best and outrageous costumes ever seen, many of which are developed months in advance. Over $3,000 worth of prizes will be given out to the freakishly best!

5. NOW PLAYING: I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, TORONTO AFTER DARK AWARD-WINNING SHOCKER AT SELECT AMC THEATRES!

Thanks to those fearless souls at Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada, horror fans across the city can now get to see the shocking revenge thriller I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE at their local multiplex! The film, a remake of an already infamous cult classic title, premiered to a sell-out crowd at this summer’s Toronto After Dark Film Festival, and went on to receive numerous fan awards including the AUDIENCE AWARD FOR BEST FEATURE FILM, BRONZE MEDAL, and FANS’ CHOICE AWARDS for BEST DIRECTOR, BEST LEADING ACTRESS and BEST KILLS.
