Book Review: Morpheus Tales Magazine – Undead Issue

Morpheus Tales – Undead Special (pdf preview)

Morpheus Tales was kind enough to send me a copy of their Undead Special Issue and I am glad they did.

If you, like me enjoy the undead in all their forms you will love the Undead Special.

The cover art is simply beautiful, as is the other artwork interspersed throughout the magazine.

But it is the quality of the fiction that makes this magazine stand out. There are apocalyptic zombie stories, vampire stories and stories that really can’t be categorized except that they deal with the undead.

A few of the highlights for me were:

Never Trust A Vampire by L.B. Goddard – A simply wonderful vampire tale.

The Pit by John Grover – A terrible way to treat the undead.

Ghost Light by Kristi Petersen Schoonover – A haunting tale of a society treating their departed…shall we say, a little different.

Worms by Jeremiah Job Levine – My favorite of the issue and one that is guaranteed to make your skin crawl.

If you are a lover of all things Undead you would be hard pressed to find such an eclectic group of stories in on place. The writing is top notch, the stories are fun and frightening.

Morpheus Tales is kind enough to give a short preview of what’s in the Undead Special in pdf format. Click on the link at the top of the page and sample some of what is inside, you will not be disappointed. Then go to their website and order. We that love short fiction need to support the small press publishers and Morpheus Tales is one of the best out there.
