Best Movies You Can Watch with Your SO

Most times we are always so busy with our work and responsibilities that those times we spend with our significant other is always so precious. It is always important that you consider movies that will be mutually interesting so that even those few hours you have for a movie date will be enjoyable and memorable.

Whether you are going to the cinemas or just going to snuggle on the sofa and stream on Netflix, these movies will make your evening. The upside to this movie compilation is that they were released earlier this year, so hopefully none of you has seen it. The genre Span across drama, comedy, action and thriller.

So, grab your popcorn and select any of these movies to watch with your significant other. (They are listed in no particular order)

1. The Competition

The premise is set around a woman who believes in ending relationships after six months to avoid having her heart broken by infidelity. Then enters Chesney, who sets out to prove her wrong by inviting her to tempt his happily coupled friends into cheating.

This movie is quite educative, if you know what I mean. It involves a lot of drama but it will remind you and your partner, the core essentials that builds and sustains a relationship.

2. Fifty Shades Freed

The final installment of the Fifty Shades series is the most romantic. You would find lessons here that you wouldn’t get from the best dating site for serious relationships. Yes, there will be lots of sexiness, expect that. But there will also be marriage, kids, and all that happily ever after stuff.

I would advise you to watch this at home, you just might learn a thing or two. All that erotica is balanced out with romance and love.

3. Overboard

A wealthy jerk gets amnesia after falling overboard on his yacht, and a single mom convinces him that they’re married—and wastes no time putting him to work.

It is more of a romantic comedy but it is quite entertaining. You’ll spend a lot of time laughing and sighing. This one is a keeper. You would love to see it ones or twice again. Great movie for a date.

4. Mission Impossible: Fallout

This is the most intense movie out of the whole spy franchise. Tom cruise delivers an action-packed movie that will leave you at the edge of your seats, munching hard on those popcorns. From the stunts, to the car chases, this movie will get you hooked for 180 minutes and you wouldn’t even feel it.

5. Black Panther

Hopefully one of you hasn’t seen this movie yet. It has garnered a lot of attention because of its mainly black cast. Set in a fictional country of Wakanda, watch the journey of a young man towards self-discovery. It appreciates the African culture without diluting its originality with technology and science.

The movie is rich in colour and culture with highlights of humour, action and romance. This movie will end with a smile on your lips and a contented sigh from both corners.

6. Incredibles 2

Even if you are not a big fan of 3D animated movies, you should still try this one out. This one would change your mind. A family with supernatural powers. Everyone’s favourite superheroes. The Incredibles 2 is a must see.

It is fun and exciting and will leave you laughing as they navigate the day-to-day living as a normal family while trying to save the world.

7. The Quiet place

This is an intense horror flick. It is aggressively scary and will give you healthy nightmares for days. The strong acting from the cast will grip you and have you clinging to each other throughout the movie.

If you are looking for a good and thorough scare, I will gladly recommend this thriller.  It will give you goosebumps, but you would appreciate the amazing and realistic delivery of the cast. As long as you remember that is fiction and it’s just a movie.
