There was some exciting news released a few days ago in regards to the lovely Kathy Bates. She is finally getting her Hollywood star on the Walk of Fame!
According to walkoffame.com, Kathy’s ceremony will be on September 20th. She is the 2,589th star to be awarded. Her star will be located in the motion pictures category at 6927 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre.
Kathy has won an Academy Award for best actress with her role in Misery. She has also won two Emmy’s for outstanding guest actress on Two and a Half Men and outstanding supporting actress for American Horror Story: Coven.
In Misery, Kathy Bates plays Annie who is a crazed “number 1 fan” of Paul Sheldon (James Caan), a novelist who is famed for his romance stories featuring a character Misery Chastain. To make an amazing story short, she rescues him from a snowy crash and nurtures him to health. She has a slight temper though and she does love Misery Chastain so very much.
Kathy also had an amazing role in American Horror Story: Coven, of Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie. Delphine was a high-society Creole socialite in New Orleans in the 1830s. She had a special love for her slaves. Delphine created a lovely beauty balm out of the pancreases from her slaves. One of her slaves had a lover, Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett), who decided to take revenge on Delphine and give her a disguised love potion which in turn, creates an everlasting death for her for many, many years.
Kathy Bates has given us so many amazing characters over the years and her star has been long overdue. Congratulations, Kathy! We are so happy for you!
