The Hanover House Inaugural Release for New HorrorHound Magazine Label

Hanover House

Maine-based horror production company Bonfire Films announces its award winning independent film The Hanover House has struck a distribution deal with the newly launched, specialty film company HorrorHound Films.

The movie distributor is the latest division spun out of HorrorHound, owner of the iconic eponymous genre magazine and home to the largest pure horror conventions in the United States. Bonfire CEOs Corey and Haley Norman and HorrorHound Film Festival Director Jason Hignite made the announcement at the flagship HorrorHound convention and film festival to an enthusiastic crowd. Foregoing several offers from traditional distribution channels, Bonfire Films opted for the innovative digital strategy that HorrorHound Films enjoys as a result of its existing relationship with millions of horror fans around the world.

“We couldn’t be happier to be the first selection for HorrorHound’s new distribution company,” extolled Norman. “We are huge fans of the magazine and more than once have made the long road trip from Maine to their conventions! We know HorrorHound can put The Hanover House in the hands of all the fans that we want to reach.”

Film festival director Jason Hignite insisted that despite a vibrant digital economy the independent film sector has barely reached it’s potential. “Outstanding movies like The Hanover House are born each year from remarkably talented filmmakers like Corey and Haley [Norman},” he said. “We want to make sure these independent filmmakers find their audience. It’s ironic how digital and social media makes it at once harder and easier to produce these films and get them out there. HorrorHound Films was founded to bridge that gap.”

The Hanover House is a tense, psychological thriller with influence from Stephen King and Alfred Hitchcock. It stars Brian Chamberlain (Academy Award-winning Best Picture Spotlight, Manchester by the Sea) and features beloved fan favorite Anne Bobby (Nightbreed, Born on the Fourth of July). “Corey’s skills obviously extend beyond writing and directing,” said Hignite. “He gathered an incredible cast and solicited incredible performances. Our staff shivered from the moment we first screened it.”
